Board of Education
The Board of Education is responsible for ensuring that the District’s educational program is delivered in safe, clean, well-maintained facilities.”Because the schools serve as a focal point for the community, the Board shall also strive to ensure that facilities fit harmoniously and attractively into their neighborhoods and have flexibility of design to meet future educational and community needs.”

The Board is charged with the following responsibilities:
- Approve additions or major alterations to existing buildings
- Determine what new buildings shall be built, when
- Determine the method of financing that will be used
- Select and purchase school sites for future expansion, if warranted
- Approve the selection of architects and structural engineers
- Award contracts for design and construction
- Name schools and individual buildings or other facilities
- Advocate school facility needs to the community
